Arnaud Vaillant and Sebastien Meyer have been appointed as the new artistic directors for womenswear at Courrèges.
Vaillant and Meyer, who run their own brand, Coperni, won the ANDAM Award in 2014 and were finalists for the LVMH Young Fashion Designer Prize in 2015.
Courreges' owners, Frederic Torloting and Jacques Bungert, have chosen them as their new artistic directors, citing their innovative approach and high level of creativity. Coperni will be suspending operations after the 2015-16 Autumn/Winter collection.
Regarding the new directors, Trullotin commented, "They are young, talented and essential when it comes to thinking about the future of Courrèges. We have a duty to create and to present a clear vision for the future. We see this new cycle, which has just begun, as a necessary foundation for the development of Courrèges."
Additionally, Vangeur added, "When I first met Arnaud and Sébastien, I immediately realized that we shared the same values and vision. I am delighted that they have joined us in this challenge at this outstanding brand, a pillar in France's creative history."
