Tokujin Yoshioka's "Glass Tea House - KOAN" is coming to Tokyo. Special exhibition at the National Art Center, Tokyo until 2021

"Tokujin Yoshioka Glass Tea House KOU-AN" will be on special display in front of the main entrance of the National Art Center, Tokyo in Roppongi, Tokyo from April 17th to May 10th, 2021.

"Glass Tea House KOU-AN" was unveiled at the 54th Venice Biennale in 2011. In 2015, it was unveiled on the grand stage of Shogunzuka Seiryuden Hall in Kyoto, generating a great deal of buzz. At the National Art Center, Tokyo, this work will be installed outdoors, allowing visitors to see its changing appearance in natural light. The glass bench "Water Block," which is part of the collection of the Musée d'Orsay in Paris, will also be on display.

Tokujin Yoshioka is a designer and artist who also designed the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Torch Relay Torch. His works are in the permanent collections of major art museums around the world, including the Museum of Modern Art in New York (USA), the Pompidou Centre (France), and the Victoria and Albert Museum (UK), and he was also selected as one of the "100 Most Respected Japanese People in the World" by Newsweek magazine.
