The art book festival "TOKYO ART BOOK FAIR" is currently being held at Ginza Sony Park. Weekday-only art book vending machines, experiential events, and live performances are also available.

Event Date:2019.03.08-04.07
Mar 27, 2019
Ginza Sony Park is hosting the sixth installment of its experimental program, "#006 TOKYO ART BOOK FAIR: Ginza Edition," based on the concept of an "ever-changing park." Due to overwhelming popularity, the program has been extended until April 14th. Launched in 2009, "TOKYO ART BOOK FAIR" was Japan's first book fair specializing in art publishing. Held annually, it is one of Asia's largest art book fairs, bringing together artists and publishers. Now, for the first time, "#006 TOKYO ART BOOK FAIR: Ginza Edition" will be held in Ginza for a month.

Due to the extension of the event period, additional booth exhibitors have been added for the final weekend, April 13th and 14th. In addition to exhibitors selected through public submissions, special booths by guest artists will also be set up. TOKYO ART BOOK FAIR: Ginza Edition is not to be missed until the final weekend. If you have already visited, be sure to take this opportunity to revisit.

PUGMENT is also in charge of the design and production of the staff uniforms for this year's TOKYO ART BOOK FAIR: Ginza Edition.

Also, don't miss the "Art Book Vending Machine," which will be available only on weekdays during the event. This vending machine is stocked with over 1,000 art books, mainly books collected as "exhibition fees" from weekend booth exhibitors. Insert your participation fee (500 yen or one art book you brought with you) into the machine, select a keyword, and a book related to that keyword will come out of the "vending machine."

The "Art Book Vending Machine" will be available only on weekdays.
At the "Exhibitor Booth," domestic and international publishers, galleries, bookstores, and artists will communicate the appeal of printed materials while communicating directly with visitors at their respective tables, including tables where artists will come and hold autograph sessions. This will be a rare opportunity to interact with creators such as Tomoo Gokita, Yuichi Yokoyama, Wisut Ponnimit, Masayuki Shioda, Taisuke Koyama, and Mayumi Hosokura.

Park Live, held on the 4th basement floor, will decide its lineup in conjunction with events during the period. On March 29th, there will be a performance by the unit "Everything is a Little Bit Gentler World" consisting of detune., Aoba Ichiko, Ito Ken, and Nishijima Daisuke, and on April 7th, there will be a session by artist Anotani Masaho and musician Mori Shunji.

March 30th will be an appearance by photographer Homma Takashi's band, deer revenge, and other performances by artists participating in the fair, which are also not to be missed. This event is not only fun for art books, but also for discovering music. Additionally, the background music played on the 4th basement floor will be linked to the event and selected by artists associated with the fair.

On the 3rd basement floor, CURRY TRUCK will be set up with the theme of "Art Book x Curry," and more than 10 curry restaurants will be setting up shop on a daily basis during the fair, so be sure to check that out as well.
