Frühlingsfest is a German festival celebrating the arrival of spring. Combining a beer festival and a traveling amusement park, it is a traditional German tradition to enjoy a spring day with family and friends. Yokohama Frühlings Fest, a re-creation of this German spring festival, will be held for the 7th time this year, with an expanded attraction area. A new "KIDS PARK" will be built on the ocean side of the venue, where both children and adults can have fun to their heart's content. Numerous family-friendly events will be held, centered around the attraction area, stage area, and outdoor theater area.
The "KIDS PARK" area on the ocean side will be home to a collection of attractions and workshops for children, one of the features of Frühlingsfest. Eight types of attractions will be available, including the German-made merry-go-round and coffee cups that were popular last year.
Other activities will include physical activities such as the Kids' Disco, a revolutionary rhythmic play program that combines DJs and eurhythmics, bouldering, and the Ballschule, a ball exercise program developed in Germany. The Kids' Stage will feature a variety of stage performances, including jaw-dropping juggling, thrilling acrobatics, and classical music performances by the Kanagawa Philharmonic Orchestra, as well as an outdoor theater.

The outdoor theater, which will be open from 7 pm each day from May 1st to 5th, will screen films that families can enjoy. Guests can enjoy the pleasant sea breeze of Yokohama Port while watching movies in an atmosphere that cannot be found at a movie theater. Admission is free, no advance reservations are required, and you can bring your own food and drinks. The films being screened will be the outdoor premiere of five films by Academy Award-nominated director Mamoru Hosoda: "Mirai," "The Girl Who Leapt Through Time," "Summer Wars," "Wolf Children," and "The Boy and the Beast."

The drink and food menu also offers a wide selection of picnic dishes and finger foods that can be shared with family and friends. The menu includes beers imported from Germany and making their first appearance in Japan, such as "Flensburger Edres Helles" and "Weihenstephan Unfiltered Kellerbier," as well as limited-edition beers that can only be enjoyed here, and classic German foods such as "Eisbein" and "Guru Guru Sausage." There's also a wide selection of picnic dishes such as the "German Sandwich Lunch Box" and "Frühlings Picnic Box," which are easy to share with family and friends, as well as finger foods such as "Jumbo Frank Cheese Dog" and "German Tacos (2 pieces)."

At Kids Park, popular crepes, tapioca royal milk tea, and other items will be sold from a food truck.

At Yokohama Frühlingsfest, you can enjoy a picnic-like atmosphere in spring weather not only on the tables and benches within the venue, but also on the lawn of Red Brick Park, which offers a panoramic view of Yokohama Port. Why not spend an entire day at the Red Brick Warehouse this Golden Week and experience the German spring atmosphere?
