FUGA is a flower shop located just past the Watari Museum of Contemporary Art on Gaien Nishi-dori Street, a five-minute walk from Gaienmae Station. Just inside the first-floor entrance, you'll find rows of seasonal flowers like clematis and lisianthus, along with approximately 150 varieties of freshly cut flowers in various colors. The basement floor also offers a selection of carefully selected ornamental plants and offers wreath arrangements.
The shop never pre-prepares bouquets; instead, each arrangement is tailored to each customer's request. All staff are full-time employees, reflecting their commitment to delivering flowers with the same passion from procurement to delivery. We spoke to Kaori Omi of FUGA, who introduces us to natural bouquets made with seasonal flowers.
"The 'champêtre' trend, which has been popular in Europe since last year and resembles wildflowers picked fresh, has become popular in Japan as well," Omi says. This time, she suggested a bouquet with a natural feel that captures this trend.
The bouquet, wrapped in linen, features beautiful pale green viburnums, a relative of hydrangeas, pinwheel-like clematis, and dignified lisianthus, surrounded by adiantums with delicate leaves swaying in the breeze and delicate white lace flowers, adding an airy atmosphere.
"Spring is the season when many different flowers sprout, so the plants are also very tender. Spring is the season for creating bouquets with a soft atmosphere," says Omi. The shop has responded to a wide range of requests, from local residents to stylists. Just tell them the occasion for which you'd like to give flowers and your taste in interior design and fashion, and they'll be sure to create an arrangement that matches your imagination.
