HIGH(er)magazine is an independent magazine whose editor-in-chief is haru., a creator who is gaining attention from all corners as a next-generation creator. The fifth issue, "issue 05," will be released on February 1st.


HIGH(er)magazine issue 05 - 2,000 yen (tax included)

It has been about four years since HIGH(er)magazine issue no. 0 was published in May 2015. The five members, who were university students at the time of the magazine's launch, are now about to graduate in March, and each has begun a new path. This issue was tackled by a new team consisting of only two people: Editor-in-Chief Haru. and his assistant Miya.

The main theme of Issue 05 is "identity," and we reflect on "living life in your own way." Below is a comment from Editor-in-Chief Haru.

As my fellow editors and I will soon be graduating from university, I've been thinking more and more about our future lifestyles.
There are many dangers lurking around us that can shake our creativity and values, and to overcome them, I believe each of us must hold onto our own desires and beliefs in our hearts.
Pressure from parents to work for a good company; Advertisements and commercials that force us to define what it means to be a "winner in life"; Foolish politicians who define people's worth by numbers and gender.
I put a strong determination into Issue 5: I won't be defeated by these things. May Higher continue to be the place where we can shine the brightest in our own unique ways. (haru.)

A release event will be held on February 1st to commemorate the release of this magazine. The event will feature a talk session and live performance with NUET Magazine Editor-in-Chief Jun Hirayama.

In conjunction with the release event, Editor-in-Chief haru. will also be holding a book curation pop-up. She selected three artists, each of whom will create a zine, which will be sold exclusively through SHIBUYA TSUTAYA's private label, "NEST PUBLISHING." This is the first project of "NEST," a project led by SHIBUYA TSUTAYA to bring young creators and Shibuya to life.
