PORTER CLASSIC Ginza opened on December 6th. The interior, themed around a "traveling sailing ship," was designed by film art director Yohei Taneda and Toho Visual Arts. For this renovation, the store brought in a group of film art experts to partner with them to create the brand's worldview through a trial-and-error process. The store, themed around a "traveling sailing ship," resembles a movie set.
The store is approximately 100 square meters. Making the most of its size, the store features a ship deck with a large mast. The design even includes a mechanism that gradually changes the sky above the ceiling and the view through the windows from morning to dusk. This space, meticulously crafted down to the smallest detail, invites visitors into the world of Porter Classic.
The store features "KATSU'S ROOM," which displays vintage accessories collected by the company's chairman, Katsuyuki Yoshida; "OHARIKO MAFIA SPACE," where customers can get a close-up look at the seamstresses' handiwork; and "PC CINEMA LOUNGE," where customers can watch videos related to the brand. The area around the cash register is designed to resemble the bar counter on board a ship, making the store enjoyable as if wandering around the ship. The store offers a wide range of products that can only be purchased at the Ginza store, including jewelry, vintage watches, and limited edition collections.

"SASHIKO LOVE GINZA 2022," the first event since the reopening, will be held
"Sashiko"* is a style born from the "spirit of cherishing things." In order to pass this tradition on to the next generation, we have gone through trial and error in all processes of thread, weaving, dyeing, cutting and sewing to create our products. In homage to this art of sashiko, we will be offering one-of-a-kind items exclusive to Ginza, and during the event, we will be offering a customization service where seamstresses can embroider any words or initials you wish on items purchased in-store. Seamstresses (artisans) will also be on hand on the day, and various events are planned.
*Sashiko is an embroidery technique born from the wisdom of people trying to make their lives as comfortable as possible in harsh environments.
