Dior Fine Jewelry has announced its new jewelry collection, "Rose des Vents." A charming short film featuring moving illustrations by the film's creator, Victor de Castellane, has just arrived from Paris. The new collection features reversible jewelry featuring the "Rose des Vents," a compass wind rose still found in Christian Dior's childhood home in Granville, Normandy. Combining the star that inspired the superstitious Christian Dior to found his fashion house with his beloved rose, the piece is like a talisman, guiding you in the right direction with the wind. Incidentally, the title of the piece, "Rose des Vents," literally translates to "rose of the winds"—apparently named after the radiating wind rose, which is reminiscent of roses.


Regarding this piece, Victor commented, "I wanted to start from the idea of a small motif pendant, and I thought there was nothing more suggestive than a medallion. The wind rose is a symbol of travel, but this medallion not only features the star that was Christian Dior's talisman, but also the rose that he loved. It alludes to the entire history of the Maison."

The reversible medallions come in four colors: mother-of-pearl, pink opal, turquoise, and lapis lazuli. Four types of bracelets and five types of necklaces will be available, each from June 10th.
