Ginza Tsutaya Bookstore will be holding the exhibition "Throne -Louvre Pyramid-" by sculptor Nawa Kohei from February 5th to 11th.


Since July 2018, Kohei Nawa's large-scale work "Throne" has been on exhibit inside the pyramid of the Louvre Museum in Paris, France. When Ginza Tsutaya Bookstore opened in 2017, Nawa was asked to create a work befitting the new Tsutaya Bookstore, which was themed around art and Japanese culture. The golden throne, "Throne (g/p_ boy)," was created. This marked the first encounter between Ginza Tsutaya Bookstore and "Throne." The current "Throne -Louvre Pyramid-" exhibition will showcase a documentary film and a new edition of "Throne," currently on display at the Louvre Pyramid. At the same time, the dynamic development of Nawa's work and sculpture series will be documented in an art book entitled "METAMORPHOSIS," featuring abundant photographic documentation and critical text. The book, published by Tsutaya Bookstore on February 4th, features over 150 works, primarily from 2011 onward, spanning 336 pages. A special edition of the book will also be released, featuring limited edition multiples.
