Toile de Jouy is a traditional French textile. In 1946, Christian Dior commissioned interior decorator Victor Grandpierre to design the interior of Dior's first boutique at 30 Avenue Montaigne. With the advice of Christian Bélard, the painter and close friend of Dior, the boutique was named "Colifichets," meaning "haberdashery," and its walls were decorated with the 18th-century motif of Toile de Jouy.
Since then, numerous Artistic Directors have reinterpreted Toile de Jouy to this day, imbuing it with their own unique, modern perspective.

Plate, diameter 21cm (12,500 yen)
In this collection by Maria Grazia Chiuri, timeless and traditional textiles are used to depict motifs of wild animals such as lions, monkeys, and snakes on plates, tablecloths, notebooks, etc., while the blue and red "Toile de Jouy" brightens up the home.
The product is available at House of Dior Ginza in Ginza.
