A pop-up event called "Nostalgic yet New: Bunka-ya General Store at Hankyu" will be held from January 9th to 14th at the Festival Plaza on the 9th floor of Hankyu Umeda Main Store, featuring Bunka-ya General Store, the store of Hasegawa Yoshitaro, a driving force behind the Showa era general goods boom.

"Kiichi" pouch (large, 2,700 yen), etc.
Bunka-ya General Store, founded by Hasegawa Yoshitaro and a major influence on young people from around 1975, is a legendary general store that has left its mark as the origin of the general goods boom. At the time, it was a center of fashion and offered unprecedented values. The wide range of items that stimulate intellectual curiosity have attracted the attention of young people, as well as artists both in Japan and abroad, giving birth to a new category of "miscellaneous goods." Now, for a limited time, the shop overflowing with the sensibility of Hasegawa Yoshitaro, which sadly closed in 2015, will be open.

After working as a graphic designer at an advertising agency, Hasegawa, with the desire to "select things I like and bring joy to others," discovered values from an unconventional perspective and became a successful buyer, bringing acclaimed miscellaneous goods to the world. He was acclaimed as a pioneer, attracting attention for his unconventional selection of items ranging from fashion items and everyday goods to interior decor and artwork.
