"ARTISTS' FAIR KYOTO 2019: BLOWBALL" is a satellite event of "ARTISTS' FAIR KYOTO 2019," an initiative in which artists take on the challenge of developing their own markets and connecting culture and the economy. The event will take place in familiar locations such as restaurants and hotels in Kyoto Prefecture, transforming them into art exhibition venues.

"ARTISTS' FAIR KYOTO 2019," taking place on March 2nd and 3rd, 2019, is an unprecedented art fair that transcends the framework of existing art fairs. By fostering interaction between audiences and artists and making the "culture of buying art" a part of everyday life, the event aims to foster a space where the next generation of artists can create culture sustainably and creatively.
As a satellite event of the same event, "ARTISTS' FAIR KYOTO 2019: BLOWBALL" will expand the scope of activities for young artists, with each venue collaborating with young artists to exhibit and sell their works. It will encourage a wide range of people, from diners to guests, to come into contact with art, and is an experimental attempt to establish the idea of buying art. Spring Valley Brewery Kyoto
Located close to Kyoto's Nishiki Market, Spring Valley Brewery Kyoto is a renovated, approximately 100-year-old townhouse housing a restaurant serving "Japanese craft" cuisine, alongside a brewery producing cutting-edge craft beer. The Western-style building in the courtyard of the brewery houses the restaurant. Araki Yu, whose unique worldview explores the "in-between" between different cultures, focuses on diverse motifs from all over the world, past and present, and presents his work primarily through video works. From February 16 to March 3, 2019, the exhibition will be held in a room in the approximately 100-year-old Western-style building, showcasing a collaboration with Kyoto craft beer.
