Wako is known as a landmark at the Ginza 4-Chome intersection. Wako's 2022 Christmas season display is an installation celebrating 70 years of its show windows. Running until December 25th, Wako will not only feature Christmas window displays, but also an AR (augmented reality) space and Wako's first-ever NFTs, offering a combined real-world and digital experience.

■ Window Display "Harmony" — Harmony —
This time, we have designed 14 Christmas ornaments that capture the essence of Wako's show window archives. Four windows, particularly popular during the Christmas season, feature 3D polygonal renderings of a polar bear, penguin, rabbit, and parent-child reindeer. Other themes include graphical designs, fairies, robots, fortune-telling, advent calendars, beards, candles, bells, and the night sky.

In the center of the window is an ornament shaped like a clock. The movement of the hands represents the passage of time and a journey back in time. Focusing on Christmas season displays that have adorned various eras, this show window harmonizes across the ages. The theme "wa" (harmony) means harmony, a word that seeks to create something new by combining different elements while making the most of them.

■An AR experience with cute ornaments popping out
Window displays aren't just real. By scanning the QR code in front of the display, the shop window will expand into an AR (Augmented Reality) space. Moving Christmas ornaments and doves flapping before your eyes will pop out, creating an unrealistic experience you wouldn't get in real life.

■Free NFTs for a Limited Time
In today's world of advancing digital technology, such as the metaverse and blockchain, memories are no longer stored in the real world. You can digitally store proof of your experiences as NFTs. The first NFT produced by Wako this time is a digital illustration of the "Japanese" window display. It is available for free via the QR code in the center window or the webpage.
