"Sweets & Sandwich Buffet - Strawberry Picking at the Hotel," a famous sweets buffet boasting one of the largest attendance figures in Japan, will be held again this year from January 15th to March 31st, 2019, at the Hotel New Otani Osaka's tea and cocktail bar, "SATSUKI LOUNGE."


In the seven years since its inception, the famous sweets buffet "Strawberry Picking at the Hotel" has attracted over 100,000 visitors and consumed over 700,000 strawberries in a single year. 2019 marks the seventh year, and for the first time, interior brand "SWATi" has been in charge of the decoration, creating a gorgeous lounge atmosphere reminiscent of a Parisian flower shop. In addition to the spatial design, there will be a menu of over 30 items, including "strawberry sweets" inspired by Swati's cute worldview that tickles the feminine heart of women.

As strawberry buffets are popular all over Japan, the annual popular "Brand Strawberry Tasting" will be held again this year. Guests can taste and compare three different brand strawberries selected according to the season, on a daily basis. They can enjoy delicious strawberries collected from all over Japan, including "Hakata Amaou®", the quintessential strawberry, as well as "Saga Honoka" from Saga and "Hinoshizuku" from Tochigi.  

SWATi Sweets
SWATi is an interior design brand that started out as a handmade candle brand. Its concept images are "cute objects," "playful pop," and "something that seems familiar but doesn't." Inspired by this, the pastry chef team at Hotel New Otani Osaka have prepared sweets that will make any girl's heart skip a beat.
Not only will there be a selection of adorable-looking sweets, such as "Parfait - Seven Sympathies," which is themed around the "citrus scent of the blue Mediterranean sea," and "Glass Sweets - Rosé Brut," which is themed around "red lipstick on the lips and an adult texture," but the "SWATi Sweets" corner is also lined with decorations that fully evoke the world of SWATi, allowing you to enjoy the cute space to the fullest.

Sandwiches
A must-have at this strawberry-filled sweets buffet will also be available, including classic strawberry sweets that have been well-received since the buffet's launch, such as shortcake, roll cake, and Napoleon pie. The ever-popular "New Otani Special Pancakes" are also baked right before your eyes and served with homemade strawberry ice cream and sorbet.

In addition, there are a variety of gourmet sandwiches made with homemade bread kneaded with freeze-dried strawberries by Hotel New Otani Osaka's Executive Chef Shoji Nishiguchi, as well as a full lineup of "sandwiches and savory delicacies" using strawberries. They can be enjoyed not only as lunch but also as a substitute for dinner.
