"Aoyama Sake Flea Vol. 9," an event featuring sake brewers from across Japan, will be held for two days on November 17th and 18th at the United Nations University courtyard in Aoyama, Tokyo. In addition to a tasting of over 120 types of sake from 33 breweries across the country, the event will also feature chefs who offer dishes that complement the sake.

Every drop of sake continues to evolve while drawing on its historical context. Amid declining domestic consumption and a shrinking number of sake breweries, brewers who are determined to create truly delicious sake are creating a new sensation. This event will provide a platform for that expression and reflect the current state of sake.
Young sake brewers who are driving the change in sake, sake-loving drinkers, and modern sake will gather from all over Japan to create a new "sake" culture, and together with brewers, they will promote "delicious, fun, and interesting" sake that suits modern lifestyles to the world.
This ninth event will focus on food and tableware that can be enjoyed with sake. You can discover new ways to enjoy sake, pair it with other drinks, and find your favorite sake.

33 sake brewers from all over Japan will gather in Aoyama, carrying their proud sake, for a "Sake Tasting" where you can taste and compare over 120 types of sake. Enjoy sake while speaking directly with the craftsmen who are driving the sake industry forward.
Tickets available on the day include one original sake cup and eight coins: the "Starter" (¥2,000), the "Nonbei" (¥4,000) with 20 coins, and the "Choi-nomi" (¥1,000) with two coins. Hand over your coins to the sake booth and have someone pour you a glass of sake. For those who want to drink more, pre-sale tickets are also available: the "Nomi-raise 30" (¥6,000), which includes two sake cups and 30 coins, and the "Nomi-raise 40" (¥7,500), which includes two sake cups and 40 coins. This is a valuable opportunity to ask questions about sake brewing and learn the story behind its development.
There will also be a 30-minute "+Sake" tasting experience, where delicious food and sake are paired. The first event will be themed around "food and dashi," and will feature three dishes - meat, fish, and sweets - paired with the dashi used to make them, each paired with "+SAKE." Adding "sake" to familiar dishes will produce a surprising change in flavor.
Reservation tickets (3,000 yen including tax) can be purchased on the reservation page (https://plussake.peatix.com/view) for the time slot you wish to attend. If reservations are sold out, you will not be able to participate on the day.

Also featured will be a gallery of tableware called "Utsuwa no Aru Kukan," overseen by Masaki Tada of the famous Kagurazaka restaurant "Soukyu." Sake and food crafted with care and attention taste even better when served in carefully crafted tableware. In addition to sake vessels that enrich your drinking experience, we will be showcasing a variety of tableware and vases that add color to your life, with the cooperation of the Ri'an Arts Collection, which handles a wide range of items, from ancient Oriental ceramics, primarily from China, Korea, and Japan, to antique glass and contemporary art. Starting at 11:00 AM on November 18th, we will host a talk show titled "SAKE Discussion Vol. 1: Ramen and Sake," featuring Marie Chiba of Ebisu's "Gem by moto," a "ramen-loving sake professional," and Naoto Kuroki of Kyo Kuroki, a "ramen-loving sake professional." Chiba, who loves ramen so much that she serves it with freshly made noodles, and Kuroki, who loves sake so much that he suggests sake to pair with the ramen he's serving that day, will delve into the deliciousness and compatibility of sake and ramen from their respective perspectives. Pre-order tickets (2,000 yen) can be purchased from the reservation page (https://sakedangivol1.peatix.com/view).

The participating artists this time are Mutsu Hassen (Aomori), Yonezuru (Yamagata), Yamanoi (Fukushima), Ibuki (Fukushima), Yui Yui (Ibaraki), Raifuku (Ibaraki), Gokeiji (Ibaraki), Wakakoma (Tochigi), Mizubasho (Gunma), Toyoake (Saitama), Kagamiyama (Saitama), Kidoizumi (Chiba), Izumibashi (Kanagawa), Kakurei (Niigata), Mt. Myoko (Niigata), Haneya (Toyama), Tedorigawa Yoshidakura (Ishikawa), Tengumai (Ishikawa), and Masumi. A total of 33 breweries will be represented: Miyasaka (Nagano), Tsushimaya (Gifu), Sakaya Hachibei (Mie), Kiracho (Shiga), Tatsuriki (Hyogo), Banshu Ikkon (Hyogo), Mimurosugi (Nara), Kido-KID- (Wakayama), Izumo Fuji (Shimane), Tosa Shiragiku (Kochi), Shichida (Saga), Hojun (Oita), ORBIA・FONIA, MUEZ, and Nihonshu Oendan.
