As part of its 70th anniversary project, Moncler will release the sixth installment of the Moncler Maya 70 collaboration, a series in which seven designers reinterpret the iconic Maya jacket, Moncler Maya 70 by Pierpaolo Piccioli, on November 19th.

Pierpaolo Piccioli's reinterpretation of the Maya combines fashion aesthetics with sports fabrics, expressing Moncler's classic style in a couture yet relaxed style.

"The nylon laqué jacket is designed to be comfortable, relaxed, and effortlessly worn. The biggest challenge is the square pads made from the same fabric and the hand-finished knots. I'm fascinated by the possibilities of sports outerwear. In this frame, benefit and style come together."

" says Pierpaolo Piccioli. He also cast supermodel Kirsten McMenamy in the campaign, adding, "She's both an artist and an interpreter. Her versatile and wonderful aura is infectious, energetic, and immersive. It's this energy that makes our work not just about quality, but also fun and unique."

Pierpaolo Piccioli Profile
"I've always loved film and when I was younger I dreamed of becoming a film director. When I discovered fashion and its storytelling, I decided to become a designer. It was the natural progression of my dream." After graduating from high school, he enrolled at the Istituto Europeo di Design in Rome. After a few years there, he focused on working in the atelier before joining Fendi in 1990, where he was responsible for the brand's accessories line. It was during this time that he experienced the essence of the profession, experiencing Italian craftsmanship and experimenting with new approaches. "Working closely with artisans and Italian experts, I have learned to understand, recognize, break, and rewrite the rules. Savoir-faire is the foundation of a designer's profession; it is the base from which each creative process begins." After Fendi, he joined Valentino and developed a new accessories line. From dresses to accessories, the challenge was to continue the great tradition of Valentino Couture, preserving the tradition, healing power, and creativity of its founder. This endeavor was a success on all fronts. In 2008, he was appointed Co-Creative Director of Valentino. "From the very beginning, the overriding challenge regarding Valentino's heritage was not to re-propose parts of the archives, but to realize the Maison's perception, idea, and essence. It was a creative process modeled on the methods of the couture ateliers. From the fashion shows to the collaborations and stores: in other words, human excellence, depicted in every detail." In just a few years, Valentino became a reference brand for the fashion system and an international success story. In 2016, Pierpaolo Piccioli was appointed sole creative director of the Maison, marking the beginning of a new era that would further the evolution of the Italian brand. "I am interested in the idea of humanism as a catalyst for creativity. The human network that makes up this Maison is, to me, the best team possible. Here, I have discovered that innovation is impossible without a deep knowledge of tradition. At the same time, I know that the sense of limitations that comes from this awareness gives us the freedom to think about how to transcend them. Taken together, this is a new direction for Valentino: a personal yet collectively human narrative of a story that has yet to be written."
