Swiss luxury watch brand TAG Heuer is celebrating the Year of the Rabbit with the release of the TAG Heuer Carrera Chronograph Year of the Rabbit.
This sophisticated yet sporty model, limited to 500 pieces worldwide, is available in three colors: black, red, and gold, and the dial is inlaid with the delicate symbol of a wise and cute rabbit. In the Chinese zodiac, the rabbit represents wisdom, prudence, and skill, and is associated with positive traits.
Red, a color that has long been associated with good fortune, joy, passion, and boldness in China, is subtly incorporated throughout the piece. Red, closely associated with the element of fire, is also considered the color of choice for adorning the most revered spaces and possessions.
Based on the 44mm TAG Heuer Carrera Chronograph, this limited-edition model features an elegant stainless steel case, a deep black fixed ceramic bezel with a tachymeter scale inspired by the watch's racing origins, and a custom-designed dial. Featuring a balanced tri-compax layout, the chronograph's black dial is printed with an unprecedented pattern of lines reminiscent of the soft fur of a rabbit, adding texture and depth to the design.
The chronograph sub-counters at 3 and 9 o'clock are finished with an azure finish, their architectural concentric lines contrasting with the gentle waves of the dial as a whole.
The 18K rose gold-plated indexes, hour and minute hands are finished with a sophisticated dark red lacquer. The chronograph and second hands are also 18K rose gold-plated.
The case back is fully customized for this model, featuring a red rabbit print in the center of the sapphire crystal. The engravings "One of 500" and "Limited Edition" denote the limited edition nature of this watch. This special case back also offers a view of the watch's movement, the Calibre Heuer 02.
This movement, developed and manufactured in-house by TAG Heuer, features a vertical clutch and column wheel for superior timekeeping precision and performance.
