The Nihonbashi Takashimaya S.C. will be born, with Nihonbashi Takashimaya at its core. With the Main Building, an Important Cultural Property, as its anchor, the New Building, East Building, and Takashimaya Watch Maison Tokyo Nihonbashi will be integrated into four buildings, creating a "new urban shopping center" with a total sales floor area of approximately 66,000 square meters. A preview was held for the press ahead of the opening of the New Building and Main Building Galleria on September 25th.

Nipponbashi Takashimaya has previously received complaints from nearby workers that "there is nowhere to go other than convenience stores early in the morning before work," and from dual-income families living nearby that "there are not many stores open until late after work." Kazumi Kiyose, Nihonbashi Business Division Manager at Toshin Development Co., Ltd., which was in charge of planning and development of the new building, said, "We reflected customer feedback and set opening hours that suited customers' purposes as much as possible. Having different opening hours depending on the store is a style that has not been seen in department stores before," commenting that the store aimed to be a place that would be loved and frequented by everyone, including residents, workers, and domestic and international tourists.

A total of 115 stores will open in the new building, including some that are making their first appearance in Japan, their first appearance in a commercial facility, and new business formats. The basement floor is directly connected to Nihonbashi Station on the Tokyo Metro Ginza Line and Tozai Line, and from 7:30am it will be possible to go above ground by passing through the first floor. As a result, all 13 stores, mainly on the first floor, will open from 7:30am on weekdays. Popular Yoyogi Hachiman bakery 365 Days and Nihonbashi will be opening its first store in a commercial facility, along with porridge specialty store CAYU des ROIS, and lifestyle brand NEUTRALWORKS.'s new cafe stand NEUTRALWORKS.STAND, along with popular stores such as KINOKUNIYA entrée and DEAN & DELUCA CAFE. In addition to restaurants, GMT FACTORY, which offers shoe and bag repair services, and yoga studio libéry (fourth floor) have also introduced early morning opening hours, catering to office workers. The grocery store on the basement floor is open until 9 PM (Seijo Ishii is open until 11 PM), perfect for local residents heading home after work. Tokyo Curry Stand HATONOMORI, a Sendagaya specialty store specializing in curry and international spices; GREENBOWL, a slow food stand focusing on vegetables; and Okazu French MANON, a sister restaurant of a Nihonbashi bistro, will open their first store in a commercial facility. Popular Aoyama delicatessens PARIYA and Tokyo Butcher Bento Shop will open new formats. Popular sushi restaurant Umegaoka Sushi no Midori will also be opening a stand-up eatery, and the addition of eat-in spaces, a rare find in department stores until now, will also meet customer demand. In the area adjacent to the new and main buildings on the first floor, Officine Universelle Buly will open its third directly managed store in Japan. Other directly managed stores include Paul Smith and Pattiera, a jewelry brand developed by Adastria. Floors 2 to 5 will be dedicated to fashion and miscellaneous goods. The mall is lined with high-end shops, including United Arrows' select shop "Drawer" and "House of Lotus," run by model Karen Kirishima. Furthermore, it also features the first-ever store for the barber shop "THE BARBER" and men's shoe brand "Sanyo Yamacho," so that male customers can relax and enjoy their time alone. Other stores that will satisfy your curiosity include "Charon," a new business concept from Nakagawa Masashichi Shoten that offers three areas based on the tea ceremony: practice, cafe, and exhibition, and "NEUTRALWORKS.", where you can enjoy hands-on content such as personal stretching.

There are more than 30 restaurants and cafes in the new and main buildings. Notable establishments include N2 Brunch Club, an Aussie brunch restaurant and cafe created through a collaboration between a popular Australian gelato shop and a talented Sydney chef; BROZERS', a gourmet burger specialty restaurant founded in 2000 in Ningyocho, Nihonbashi; and Sapporo Sushi Natsume Nihonbashi, a renowned restaurant in Sapporo's Susukino district. Starbucks Coffee, which previously had no outlets in the area and had been in high demand, will open a new store from early morning until late at night. Another key feature of this opening is the construction of a large roof over the pedestrian walkway between the main and new buildings, creating a Galilean space that will become a new hub of activity. Takashimaya President and CEO Shigeru Kimoto says this will become "a symbolic presence for Nihonbashi Takashimaya." The promenade, where people come and go, is lined with food and miscellaneous goods tenants that will add color to your life, including SOLSO HOME, a botanical shop run by SOLSO, a group of plant professionals, and Maison Bremond 1830, a French gourmet grocery brand that will be opening its first flagship store in Japan, making it perfect for gifts and small presents.

Kimoto commented, "At Nihonbashi Takashimaya S.C., we aimed to create a place where you can enjoy shopping all day long, with the building itself being like a town. By providing not only a wide selection of products but also comfortable service, we hope to become a place that is loved by people of all ages. We hope that everyone will experience the excitement of walking around a town."
