On September 16th, the third day of London Fashion Week, Margaret Howell presented her Spring/Summer 2019 collection. For the past few seasons, the designer has presented shows that combined men's and women's wear, blurring the lines between the sexes with each passing season. This season in particular, the image of men and women unquestioningly sharing a wardrobe has emerged.
The first look featured a woman wearing an olive green raincoat, complemented by a pure white shirtdress. The man wearing the same raincoat gave the impression of a more classic look, wearing an olive green knit and white tapered jeans, but what they shared was a relaxed and chic attitude. Light and airy items like shirts with voluminous, fluttering sleeves, pleated miniskirts, sarouel pants, and lightweight knit tops evoke a refreshing spring breeze.

Then the season gradually shifts to summer. Sailor-style collared shirts, indigo blue denim and white combinations, and marine-style newsboy caps are common, as people head to the sea with a light step. The swim suites look, a collaboration with Mizuno, featured slightly wet hair, making it seem as if she had just emerged from the ocean. She has also collaborated with British sportswear brand Fred Perry, updating extremely casual items such as polo shirts and bomber jackets with Margaret Howell's signature elegance into an effortless style that will never go out of style.
