Celine has released the first handbag designed by Hedi Slimane, the "16." It will be available worldwide from November.


The historic 17th-century "Hotel Colbert" is located at 16, rue Vivienne in Paris. It has now been renovated and has been the headquarters and atelier base for Celine since 2014. The "16," named after this building, is the first handbag designed by Hedi Slimane on his first day as Artistic, Creative and Image Director of Celine. Inspired by Celine's archive bags, the bag's distinctive cropped flap, rounded silhouette, and belting incorporate 1960s details. "Our team worked for over six months to create the final version of this bag," said Celine CEO Séverine Merle, adding, "The 16 is the perfect symbol of Hedi Slimane's vision for Celine, highlighting our exceptional craftsmanship expertise." Crafted from the finest leathers and exotics, the 16 will be available in three sizes and multiple colors and will be available worldwide from November.
