This is the second installment of a project in which popular editor Karin Ohira, who posts unique and stylish snaps of her own clothes on Instagram, self-styles items from Isetan Mitsukoshi's independently edited shop, "NEW YORK RUNWAY."

This time, we asked her to suggest styling ideas using four popular staple items from the New York Runway. Why not try coordinating classic items with unique updates?

STYLE 1 
Add impactful bottoms

This simple top from "three dots" has a soft texture, a comfortable fit, and a beautiful shape. So, rather than just as an inner layer, I tucked it into a striking gold skirt so it could be worn as a stand-alone piece. The boat neck accentuates the décolleté, but adding a scarf to further accentuate the neckline makes it even more glamorous. I'm particularly concerned about my shoulder width, so this also helps to conceal it.

STYLE 2
Dressy Outing

This feminine faux shearling coat from TORRAZZO DONNA is perfect for a ladylike look. I want to pair it with a little black dress, but simple pieces tend to be too plain. In those cases, pairing it with something with a sophisticated design, like the dress I'm wearing today, is a great option. Adding a little fun to your outfit with basic black pumps and glittery tights is also a great option. Perfect for special occasions and outings.

STYLE 3
Femininity is poisonous

This ladylike outfit centers around a beautiful orange MICA&DEAL sweater, complemented by my favorite shades of red. A cardigan is layered over a comfortable, non-restrictive high-neck knit, topped with a pleated skirt. My rule for elegant style is to add a touch of feminine flair, so today I paired leopard print tights with chunky boots for a balance that's not too dressy.

STYLE 4
Sophisticated navy one tone

The chic navy color of this GLOVERALL duffle coat is fresh, and ever since I first saw it, I've wanted to pair it with a blue-ish color. Pairing it with pants for a mannish look is lovely, but I wanted to wear it with a more mature vibe, so I paired it with my favorite patterned pleated skirt. By choosing a different shade of navy for the top, I was able to enjoy the various shades of blue in this one-tone gradient look.
