Canada Goose unveils new fall/winter global campaign featuring three muses photographed by Annie Leibovitz

Nov 2, 2022
Canada Goose has unveiled its new Fall/Winter global campaign, shot by photographer Annie Leibovitz, spotlighting courageous women.

Set in the highlands of northern Scotland, the campaign embodies Canada Goose's philosophy of "Live in the Open," and against a backdrop of unpredictable weather, Leibovitz's signature style captures the characters and scenery in a candid way, evocative of the product's performance and style.

"We wanted to celebrate brave women who defy convention and show that they don't have to compromise on style or performance. That's why we're thrilled to share this powerful and valuable message through this female-led campaign."

- Penny Brook, CMO and CEO, Canada Goose

The campaign, shot by a predominantly female crew, is powerful and impactful, showcasing the talents of women. The main cast, including actor Jodie Turner-Smith, model/musician/DJ Park Soo-Joo, and model/actor Khadija Red Thunder, are women who use their platforms to challenge the status quo while remaining true to their own unique identities.

Jodie Turner-Smith (Actor) - Wearing: MARLOW PARKA

Jodie Turner-Smith is best known for appearing in Noah Baumbach's upcoming film White Noise and opposite Brian Cox in The Independent, and was the first Black woman to play Anne Boleyn on television. She is also involved with Equality Now, a nonprofit organization that creates, reforms, challenges and enforces laws to ensure lasting equality for women around the world.

"I strongly believe that the most important thing is to be true to yourself and show that through your actions. Now that I'm a mother, I feel strongly that I want to change the stereotypes that society has about what a mother 'should be like.' I believe it's possible to be a mother and still express your emotions."

- Jodie Turner-Smith

Park Soo-Ju (Model/Musician/DJ) - Wearing: AURORA JACKET

Park Soo-Ju is the first Asian-American woman to serve as a spokesperson for L'Oréal. To this day, she continues to advocate for diversity in the entertainment industry, participating in outreach programs and working with organizations like APEX for Youth.

"I strive to be a responsible and respectful person toward people and nature. Living in the Open means being open to opportunities, being bold and adventurous, and I personally live in the Open."

- Park Soo-Joo

Khadija Red Thunder (Model/Actor) - Wearing: Aurora Parka

Khadija Red Thunder is an advocate for Native Americans, African Americans, and Hispanics, supporting educational and spiritual issues facing reservation and Native American communities.

"Community means everything to me. I grew up dancing at powwows from the time I could walk, camping with my grandmother in the summer, and traveling from powwow to powwow. I'm Chippewa-Cree, and my grandmother is from Saskatchewan, Canada. I'm grateful to have grown up experiencing such beautiful and incredible cultures."

- Khadija Red Thunder

Each of these three muses comes from a different background, but they're dedicated to elevating underrepresented voices. They inspire women around the world to embrace and express their true selves.
