Yuko Mōri, an up-and-coming artist garnering attention both in Japan and abroad, has been using the "installation" technique, which transforms the entire exhibition space into a work of art. Her works use everyday objects, such as dusters, spoons, and empty cans, to bring to light the presence of invisible energies, such as electricity, magnetism, and air movement. Mohri's works, which display mysterious movements, offer the viewer a sense that the objects are breathing like living creatures, and that at times they are touched by a greater power beyond human control. This exhibition marks her first solo museum exhibition. Drawing inspiration from the vortexes, rotations, and spirals found on various levels in objects ranging from ammonites to cable strands, Mohri will present new, large-scale sculptures using sound. These sculptures symbolize the powerful forces of celestial movement and the state of society as it evolves. To approach her image of the "eternally moving body," Mohri will use an entirely new methodology for her installations.

In addition to the first public showing in Japan of a large-scale sculpture using sound related to this work, visitors can also experience the artistic world of Yuko Mohri, who has captivated many audiences both in Japan and abroad, through video, prints, and installations improvised on-site. What's more, this time the works will be exhibited outside the museum and throughout the city, allowing visitors to relive the artist's thoughts as they move between the exhibition rooms and the city.
