Danish interior product brand HAY will open one of its largest stores in the world, HAY TOKYO, on the basement floor of GYRE in Omotesando, Tokyo, for a limited time from October 19th.

With an area of over 665m2, HAY TOKYO will be one of the largest stores in the world and is the brand's first shop in Japan, incorporating new Tokyo-style edits of stores that exist in Denmark, Norway, Germany, the Netherlands, and other countries.

The store offers a wide lineup of products to suit various purposes, including furniture and lighting for comfortable living, dining, and office use, kitchenware and interior accessories to add color to any space, and decorative items and stationery that make perfect gifts. Visitors can experience products by many internationally renowned designers, including new works from brands making their Japanese debut, which were announced at this year's Milan Design Week.

HAY TOKYO will also collaborate with designers and artists who resonate with the world of HAY, launching a Tokyo-only project called "WITH HAY."

Items for sale include one-of-a-kind plants from Kusamura, a plant shop based on the concept of "happy-looking plants," limited-edition speakers from Californian music brand SONOS (pre-orders will begin in late October, with sales scheduled for November), and books from BACH, which selects and recommends books at various locations. Also scheduled for opening in February 2019 is DANDELION CHOCOLATE, a bean-to-bar chocolate specialty store, which will sell carefully crafted chocolate bars, hot chocolate perfect for the cold season, and items exclusive to HAY TOKYO.

A large bookshelf lined with books selected by Bach
Dandelion Chocolate is scheduled to open in February 2019.
In addition, as part of WITH HAY, the shop will also have a cafe directed by HAY, with Frederik Bill Brahe, owner and chef of Atelier September in Copenhagen, Denmark, serving as the cafe’s menu. The healthy breakfast menu, produced by Beverage & Beverages (Bille Brahe), can be enjoyed casually throughout the day.

The store's spatial design was handled by Tsune Nagasaka of Schemata Architects, and by using movable fixtures and pipes, the space can easily be changed to suit a variety of presentations.

Hey Tokyo will be open for a limited time, until around summer 2019, so don't miss out on this opportunity.
