Carrots, radishes, red turnips... Junjun, a popular knitter known for her unique accessories featuring everyday vegetables, is exhibiting and selling her work in the Design Park on the third floor of the newly remodeled Isetan Shinjuku Main Building.

These delicate pieces are made using a crochet style, in which lace yarn is crocheted with a hook. The crochet hooks she uses are much thinner than usual, ranging from 0.45mm to 0.4mm. Each piece is knitted almost entirely from a single strand of yarn. Junjun dyes all of the yarn herself, ensuring that the same color cannot be reproduced twice. Rather than drawing design drawings, the designs are formed as the knitting progresses, resulting in a unique and enjoyable piece.

In addition to the popular vegetable series, a wedding series is also available this time. Junjun personally selects the off-white yarn, and each piece takes a month to knit, reflecting his desire to "preserve the bond between two people, so that the thread will not break." The collection features unique wedding items, including necklaces and earrings made with pearls wrapped in lace thread. Custom orders are also available, allowing you to wear original accessories on your special day if you place your order five or six months in advance.

In 2002, she worked on creating lace-knit accessories for the brands chico and mother. In 2006, she formed the knitting team "knot" with art director Maki Fukushima. She has attracted attention through exhibitions and collaborations with various artists. In 2010, she resumed her solo career under the name "junjun jungjung." She did not hold a solo exhibition last year, instead focusing on creating custom pieces. This event will be her first exhibition and sale in a long time, allowing you to enjoy all of her work in one place.
