A special w-inds. talk event was held on August 29th with the support of Spotify Japan.
The event was held as part of the "[Spotify x w-inds.] '100' Global Twitter Share Campaign." In addition to lucky Japanese fans, overseas fans from the United States, Taiwan, Mexico, and other countries also participated via online broadcast.
In addition to analyzing the number of plays and regions of w-inds.'s songs using Spotify for Artists, which provides listening data to artists, there was also time for a Q&A session with the band members. This report on this valuable talk event will explore the collaboration between Spotify and w-inds.
Ranking by Country of Streams Using "Spotify for Artists"

The three members of w-inds. appeared to applause, and as the event began, the first thing displayed was a pie chart showing 57% and 43%. This represents 57% of listeners from overseas and 43% from Japan. The fact that there are more overseas listeners than Japanese ones surprised both the band members and their fans. The ranking of streams by country was also announced, revealing the top five: Japan in 1st place, the United States in 2nd, a tie in 3rd place, Brazil in 4th place, and France in 4th place. The three members had predicted that Asian regions with which w-inds. has had long-standing connections, such as Hong Kong, would rank highly. They expressed their excitement at the expansion of their international fan base, saying that they're listening to their music in countries they haven't toured yet, and would love to visit those countries.
A sharing campaign with fans to coincide with the release of their new song

A video summarizing w-inds.'s past releases was then shown, followed by a line graph displaying the number of plays and listening users on Spotify. Noting the social campaign they collaborated on with Spotify in connection with the release of their new song and the rise in the charts when their entire back catalog was released, Tachibana Keita expressed his gratitude to their fans for their support, saying, "Thank you for listening. I'm here today to celebrate you all." Previously, artists often had difficulty tracking data like play counts and regions, but Spotify's "Spotify for Artists" service makes these details easier to understand, helping artists promote themselves more effectively. Expanding international listenership through playlists and other means is also a unique feature of Spotify's global reach. Afterward, a Q&A session, including overseas fans, deepened the bond between the group and deepened their friendship. To conclude the event, when asked about w-inds.'s future activities, Chiba Ryohei replied, "I'm busy with my solo activities," drawing laughter from the audience. Tachibana Keita commented, "I want to continue to show an even more updated w-inds.," and the talk event concluded in a harmonious atmosphere.
