Parfums Christian Dior will release its first new fragrance for women in nearly 20 years, "JOY by DIOR," on September 7th.

"JOY by DIOR" is a "fragrance that embodies happiness," and is imbued with Dior's desire to make women happy, a wish that has been with the brand since its founding. This fragrance perfectly captures the pure, radiant, and happy moment of joy, enveloping the brightness of flowers and citrus with the softness of wood and musk. The name "Joy," which evokes all possibilities, and the sparkling bottle reminiscent of jewellery, embodies the emotion of joy.
The scent of Joy was inspired by pointillism. Dior perfumer-creator François Demachy expressed the emotion of joy by creating a fragrance in which a variety of joyful olfactory nuances come together to gently envelop the wearer, like a painting composed of countless brushstrokes. Every time you wear it, you are enveloped in the sparkling joy scattered throughout the fragrance.
The muse is actress Jennifer Lawrence. For the new fragrance, "Joy," the company teamed up with Francis Lawrence, director of "The Hunger Games," starring Jennifer, to create a film that captures the transience of joy and brilliance. The film portrays Jennifer's fresh, natural, and varied expressions, showcasing the scent of happiness and joy.
"JOY by DIOR" will be available from September 7th. It will be available in select stores, including the eau de parfum (30mL ¥8,000, 50mL ¥12,000) and the body milk (200mL ¥7,000).
