Aug 29, 2018
5-knot, the brand created by Ena Onizawa and Taketo Nishino, presented their Spring/Summer 2019 collection on August 28th in Harajuku, Tokyo. The theme was "A Journey to Cuba."
To present the collection before an exhibition running from the 29th to September 2nd, the brand held a runway show ahead of international fashion weeks such as New York and Paris.

The collection featured designs inspired by a trip to Cuba. The collection featured tops and long shirts with orange gradations, inspired by the Cuban sun, and long skirts with striped patterns that combined pink, yellow, and green tones, evoking a dazzling light. The collection features rainbow-hued cut-and-sew tops and logo T-shirts, as well as the brand's first swimwear, in collaboration with Southern California surf brand Ocean Pacific. The prints also feature vibrant Cuban flowers and the streets of Havana. Other accents include a dress that incorporates the colors and mood of backstreet walls and sand, contrasting with the vibrant colors and patterns, and a handmade hat by Kohsuke Inaba. Nishino commented, "Until last time, we held an exhibition first and then presented the collection at the end, but this time I wanted to present the collection before the exhibition in August. I'm not thinking about holding it before New York. The timing of the next exhibition hasn't been decided yet. I'd like to consider it."
