
Max Mara will release the "Whitney Bag" (243,000 yen), a collaboration with Renzo Piano Building Workshop, the designers of the Whitney Museum of American Art. The bag is available for pre-sale at a pop-up shop located at Center Park on the fourth floor of the Isetan Shinjuku Main Building until June 9th. The Whitney Museum of American Art, which relocated and reopened in April in New York's Meatpacking District, is considered one of New York's most beautiful buildings, with its striking structure featuring a partially protruding beam entrance, glass and metal exterior walls, and slender steel-finish elements that encase the building. The "Whitney Bag" was inspired by the Whitney Museum of American Art. Its elegant silhouette, with its distinctive ridges, is reminiscent of the museum's architectural structure, with its steel bands. The bag is available in two sizes: the small size comes in blue-gray, black, and brown. The large size also comes in burgundy, in addition to these three colors. The blue-gray color reflects the metallic color of the Whitney Museum's facade, and only 250 pieces will be released.
The opening party for the new Whitney Museum of American Art will be held on April 24th, and Max Mara is serving as its sponsor. Many celebrities, including actress Sarah Jessica Parker, Harley Viera Newton, and Natalie Joos, attended the party.
