From Descente's Mizusawa Down line, developed by Descente Japan Co., Ltd., comes a new premium down jacket for women, released on November 1st. It retains the high functionality of sportswear while featuring a pattern developed from scratch with a focus on a "feminine silhouette."
Previously, Mizusawa Down women's products were based on men's models, with the size and length adjusted to suit women. This time, while retaining the functionality of Mizusawa Down, such as its waterproofness and heat retention, a more feminine silhouette has been developed from scratch with a pattern developed from scratch to expand the range of wearing occasions and coordination options. Two new items will be released this season.
A new, long-length "Down Cardigan" is Mizusawa Down's first collarless item.
For the first time in Mizusawa Down history, this cardigan has no hood or collar, giving a clean, light impression around the neck. The outer fabric is made of 4-way stretch material, making it soft to wear. By placing special processing such as heat bonding, which was previously placed on the outside, on the inside of the garment, the uneven texture typical of down is less noticeable on the surface, resulting in a simple and sophisticated design that at first glance does not look like a down jacket. It is an item that can be easily thrown on and coordinated with dresses and skirts.

This long down jacket features a belt placed around the waist to create a feminine silhouette. The lining is made with HEAT NAVI®, a heat-storing and insulating material developed in-house that converts light into heat, providing extra warmth for women who are concerned about feeling cold.

This high-performance down jacket is symbolic of the craftsmanship of the "DESCENTE" brand, and is produced by artisans at the Descente Apparel Mizusawa Factory in Oshu City, Iwate Prefecture. The down pack is heat-sealed to eliminate seams, and the seams are taped, overcoming the common down jacket weaknesses such as water resistance, feather loss through pinholes, and heat loss.
