adidas Originals will release five new colorways of its P.O.D. System, designed to deliver unparalleled comfort and freedom of movement, worldwide on August 2nd.
The P.O.D. System has been further evolved by combining a sole unit that combines three of adidas's proud technologies with designs inspired by the brand's traditional archives.
This time, three unisex and two women's models will be added to the lineup as new models with a more sophisticated and modern flair, centered around classic two-tone colors.
POD-S3.1 B37363 (Unisex model / 15,000 yen)
The unique sole unit "POINT OF DEFLECTION SYSTEM", which gives the POD System its name, is made up of high-resilience EVA material in the forefoot for enhanced support, BOOST foam in the heel for comfort, and a durable rubber outsole.
Inspired by the "TORSION SYSTEM" that controlled foot twisting, which was used in many adidas shoes in the 1990s, the newly developed "POINT OF DEFLECTION BRIDGE" provides smooth movement and a comfortable fit in the forefoot and heel.
The upper is made of a classic knit material reinforced with overlay parts. It is accented with a logo on the heel tab and three-stripe details.
To celebrate the release of this new P.O.D. System model, adidas Originals has produced a documentary film that takes a look behind the scenes of the latest silhouette. Through thoughtful design analysis of the shoe and interviews with its creators, the film explores the background of the creation of the P.O.D. System and the journey of searching for inspiration from past archives.
