tac:tac, designer Shimase Takaaki and pattern designer Shimamura Kodaita, have released the visual look for their Spring/Summer 2019 collection.
The theme of this season's visuals is solo travel. Starting from Haneda Airport, the first look, the collection visits iconic Tokyo tourist spots, including Sensoji Temple, Akihabara, Zojoji Temple, and Tokyo Tower.
Perhaps because it's their first visit to Tokyo, or their first in a long time, the person standing against a backdrop of a familiar scene for anyone living in the city seems somewhat lonely. When captured, this moment is truly extraordinary. Perhaps there's nothing more boring than being swallowed up by a group or society. The rebellious spirit at the heart of tac:tac's philosophy gently dismantles notions of the everyday, even simple definitions like what it means to be male or female.
Numbers engraved on each photograph serve as coordinates. Users can search them on Google and have fun tracing the locations where the photos were taken.
