The Alhambra collection, a true icon of Van Cleef & Arpels since its launch in 1968, now boasts five new pieces in guilloched white gold, adding even more sparkle. Complementing these new pieces is a rose gold watch with a sparkling gold beaded bracelet, celebrating good fortune with a timeless design.

The Dazzling Sparkle of Guilloched White Gold

For many years, the Alhambra collection has shone a light on rare and precious materials, offering innovative interpretations. New pieces include a long necklace, bracelet, pendant, ring, and earrings in white gold, crafted with guilloched engraving to create a radiating pattern reminiscent of sunlight. The Maison first used the traditional guilloching technique in the 1910s, initially on watch dials, but by the 1930s it was also being used on precious metal and gemstone boxes, powder cases and minaudières.

In this new release, extremely fine grooves reminiscent of sunlight create a delicate relief effect on the gold surface, further enhancing the reflection of light. Respecting the original style of the Alhambra collection, each motif is carved in white gold and is edged with beads, with a single sparkling bead in the center.

The white mother-of-pearl dial and case, adorned with two rows of gold beads, exude a feminine jewellery spirit. Furthermore, the supple bracelet, connected by gold beads, moves with the wearer's movements, fitting comfortably like a second skin.

The gold bracelet is easily removable and can be interchanged with a grosgrain or alligator strap. Dressed to suit any mood, it brings elegance to every day.

The noble gold beaded border is meticulously set by skilled jewellery artisans. The prongs are then bent to delicately secure the motif. A final polishing gives the entire piece a beautiful sparkle. Thus, after 15 steps, from material selection to crafting and quality control, this iconic piece is completed, shining with timeless brilliance.

Alhambra, a symbol of good fortune born in 1968

"If you want to be lucky, believe in luck." Jacques Arpels, nephew of Estelle Arpels, was fond of saying this. The theme of good fortune, a constant focus for Van Cleef & Arpels, has guided the Maison's creative journey and inspired many of its iconic creations. In 1968, the first Alhambra long necklace was born, inspired by the four-leaf clover. A beautifully harmonious symbol of good fortune, this necklace features 20 crumpled yellow gold motifs, rimmed with delicate gold beads. This symbol was an instant success, and has since solidified its position around the world as a symbol of Van Cleef & Arpels and an icon of good fortune.
