Giorgio Armani's 2019 Spring/Summer men's collection was presented in Milan on June 18th.


EMPORIO ARMANI will be presenting a combined women's and men's collection at its September show, leaving Giorgio Armani as the only brand to show at Milan Fashion Week Men's in June. Although Emporio has been suspended, ahead of the collection, a live party featuring British band Morcheeba was held at Palazzo Pandolfini in Florence on June 14th during Pitti Uomo. The event was held to commemorate the opening of a new boutique in Florence on the 1st, but it continues to generate buzz in an effort to revitalize the somewhat stagnant Italian men's fashion industry, proving that the king of Italian fashion is still alive and well.

This season's collection features broad shoulders and wide lapels reminiscent of the '80s, the era when Armani rose to power. Double-breasted jackets and wide-leg trousers create relaxed silhouettes, while military details are elegantly accentuated throughout.

The overall look is loose-fitting and oversized. The wide lapels are reminiscent of '40s zoot suits, but the V-neck is lowered to the waist to act as a shawl collar. The jackets are cropped, creating a relaxed silhouette when paired with wide-leg trousers.

The colors, which are available in pale, earthy tones, are finished with a shiny indigo to create sophisticated, adult items. Enjoy playful styles such as soft knitwear with botanical motifs, double belts, and suspenders. The collection is adorned with seasonal trends, including optical, tie-dye, and botanical-patterned vests and knitwear, satin looks, and backpacks.

As exemplified by the gaucho style in the opening, in an age where we are constantly responding to changes such as AI and ICT, you can almost hear the voice of the emperor, who says that a relaxed lifestyle is a luxurious one.
