In the fall of 2018, Shibuya Bridge opened on the newly created land space created by the undergrounding of the Tokyu Toyoko Line between Shibuya and Daikanyama.

The facility's name, Shibuya Bridge, reflects the desire to "bridge" between different generations and cultures, and to "bridge" between the two distinct areas of Shibuya and Daikanyama. It aims to connect the various generations and cultures that visit Shibuya and pass on the memories of the Toyoko Line to the next generation, while also creating a lively atmosphere and improving access between Shibuya and Daikanyama. The facility also aims to respond to local needs, such as accommodating children on waiting lists for daycare and foreign visitors to Japan, and to create a new, appealing neighborhood in the area south of Shibuya.

The logo mark features the initials of "SHIBUYA" and "BRIDGE" designed in a diamond shape reminiscent of a train sign. The "S" represents the image of "connecting" different generations, different cultures, and areas, while the "B" is based on the shape of a railroad tie. Additionally, the underscore on the "R" in "BRIDGE" represents the inheritance of the words "Rail-Road," "Reborn," and "Relay," as well as the "R" which represents the radius of a circle and a curve.

Shibuya Bridge is located at the end of a promenade along the Shibuya River that will stretch for approximately 600 meters. It is a complex consisting of two buildings, Building A and Building B. Building A will house the certified kindergarten-style kindergarten, "Shibuya Higashi Shizen no Kuni Kindergarten Small Alley." The facility will also feature short-term childcare and childcare support spaces.
Building B will feature the "MUSTARD HOTEL," a hotel that will serve as a place for diverse people to interact, offices where residents can freely create their own spaces, and shops and cafes that will attract new people to the area.

Tokyu Corporation, the project owner, aims to enhance the appeal of the greater Shibuya area and make Shibuya "the most desirable town in Japan" by increasing the mobility of the area south of Shibuya Station from Shibuya to Daikanyama, along with the adjacent Shibuya Stream facility and the development of the Shibuya River through public-private partnerships, thereby promoting the appeal of Shibuya to the world.
