Amid the hustle and bustle of Omotesando, I found a hidden gem of a restaurant where adults can spend quality time, day or night.

I visited Fratelli Paradiso, located on the third floor of Omotesando Hills, for lunch with a friend.

Fratelli Paradiso, a popular Italian restaurant in Sydney, Australia, opened in Japan in April 2017. The interior, decorated in a subdued, dark, black-themed tone, retains the atmosphere of its home restaurant, making it one of the few large restaurants in the area with 140 seats. The chic atmosphere is complemented by a striking white marble counter where hand-made pasta is made, creating a relaxed yet approachable atmosphere. The restaurant's delicious cuisine, made with seasonal ingredients, continues to attract repeat customers who have fallen in love with the ambiance and delicious food.

From the large windows facing Omotesando, you can appreciate the beauty of the fresh green branches that you might not notice while walking around the city.

Newly offered this spring is the "Italian Salad Buffet," available only during weekday lunch hours. When you think of a salad buffet, you probably imagine a place where you can choose pre-cut ingredients like lettuce and tomatoes and add your own dressing. However, at this branch, they offer a selection of eight fully cooked salads made with 30 different ingredients, from which you can choose your favorite. The lineup includes colorful salads such as the "Russian Salad" with beets and potatoes, "Oven-baked Paprika," and "Orange and Fennel Salad." Although it has only been around for a short time since it first opened, it has already become well-known among people working in the neighborhood, who want to enjoy a fulfilling lunchtime experience.

The Italian salad buffet has a 90-minute time limit. A nice plus is that it's open from 11am to 3pm, so you can have a slightly later lunch.
You can add this to a set of "Today's Pasta" or "Maccheroni with Pork Genovese Ragu Sauce," all made with handmade pasta, for just 1,500 yen, which is very reasonable for the area! For a small extra charge, you can choose a different pasta, or add a main course and dessert to make it a full lunch course.

The classic "Maccheroni with Pork Genovese Ragu Sauce"
One of the popular main dishes, "Hokkaido Mud Lid with Herb Salt and Rosemary," can be ordered for an additional 1,000 yen.

Their signature tiramisu is an additional 400 yen if you add it to the salad buffet, so it's definitely something to order at lunchtime.

Not only are the food and atmosphere of the restaurant faithful to their Australian locations, but the music they play is too. At Fratelli Paradiso, the slightly up-tempo yet mellow club music is selected by staff in Australia, and the same music is used in Japan. Those who have been to the Sydney location will be able to enjoy the nostalgic flavors and atmosphere, while those visiting Japan for the first time will be able to experience the same Sydney atmosphere with all five senses.

The restaurant has been particular about its acoustics since it opened, using a sound system from VOID acoustics, a UK company that is used in clubs and is acclaimed as one of the most cutting-edge music systems in the world. Taking advantage of this sound system, they are also preparing to turn the entrance into a standing bar every night, where you can enjoy drinks while surrounded by pleasant sounds.

I later asked Fratelli Paradiso about the music that was playing inside the bar and created a playlist on Spotify. Enjoy the immersive atmosphere with a total of 19 songs as background music.

An anniversary party was held on the weekend night to celebrate Fratelli Paradiso's first anniversary. In stark contrast to the relaxed, quiet atmosphere of the daytime, the bar was transformed into a lounge with the addition of a DJ booth. Guests enjoyed a special time sipping wine and munching on finger foods, accompanied by the luxurious sounds of DJ San Proper, a DJ from Amsterdam. Even though the attendees were from a diverse range of industries and backgrounds, it felt strangely comfortable, like a house party. It's a favorite spot where you'll want to keep coming back for the food, music, and people.
