Various facilities within Tokyo Station City at JR East Tokyo Station will be offering a wide variety of bento boxes and one-handed gourmet food perfect for the holiday season. Various events will also be held in Marunouchi Station Square and within each hotel from Golden Week until the end of May.


At Ekiben-ya Matsuri, a specialty ekiben shop, over 200 varieties of bento arrive daily from all over Japan. They offer a wide variety of bento options, including bento with a century-old history, bento available only until June of this year, and bento that won the gold medal in the ekiben/airplane bento category at the "Deli & Bento Grand Prix." Only at Tokyo Station can you find such a wide selection.

For example, there are long-selling ekiben that are still loved more than 50 years after they were first sold, such as the "Ishikari Salmon Rice" (1,030 yen including tax), which has been sold since 1923 and has been a beloved Sapporo Station delicacy for 95 years, the "Chicken Rice Bento" (900 yen including tax), which allows you to enjoy three types of chicken - minced chicken, teriyaki chicken, and cold chicken - on top of brown rice, and the "Chicken Bento" (900 yen including tax), which offers an irresistible combination of nostalgic tomato-flavored rice and fried chicken. The rich lineup includes the ever-popular "Gyuuniku Domannaka" (1,250 yen including tax), a beef bowl-style bento with minced beef and stewed beef in a special sauce, the "Hiyataridakomeshi" (1,080 yen including tax), which comes in an appetizing octopus pot-style package, and the "Ebi Senryo Chirashi" (1,300 yen including tax), which won the Ekiben Grand Shogun award at the "JR East Ekiben Aji no Jin 2017" awards, with four types of sushi toppings hidden underneath a thick omelet, making it fun to eat.
Gransta and Gransta Marunouchi are introducing their "Top 5 Bento Lunch Boxes" for outings and the holidays, as well as five recommended "one-handed meals" for even the busiest of times. Gransta-exclusive items include Tsukiji Takewaka's "Shio Nigiri" (¥1,550 including tax), refreshingly flavored with seaweed salt and sudachi citrus, and Sasahachi's "Red Brick Pork Kabayaki No Maki Bento" (¥1,180 including tax), with its savory aroma that'll whet your appetite.

One-handed foods that can be enjoyed even when you're busy include the Kobe Beef Meat Pie (378 yen including tax) and Daisy Tokyo's Chef's Homemade Curry Bread (216 yen including tax).

In addition, Ecute Tokyo, Keiyo Street, and Meiten Bento Zenmai (Tokyo Minami Passage Branch) will also be introducing their own attractive ekiben and bento boxes, along with popular alcoholic beverages to accompany your train ride.



Various events will also be held around Tokyo Station during Golden Week. On May 3rd and 4th, the La Folle Journée TOKYO 2018 LFJ Area Concert, a classical music festival that has attracted a total of 7.26 million visitors through 2016, will be held. Each performance lasts approximately 45 minutes, and visitors can enjoy top-class performances from Japan and abroad at a low price. A variety of free events are also planned. Enjoy a day of classical music outdoors in the pleasant early summer weather, like a picnic.
