The main program for the 94th PITTI IMMAGENE UOMO, which will be held at Fortezza da Basso in Florence, Italy from June 12th to 15th, 2018, has been announced.
London-based Craig Green will appear as guest designer, and special guest Robert Cavalli will present Paul Surridge's first menswear collection, Spring/Summer 2019, in runway format.
Craig Green started his brand in 2012 after graduating from Central Saint Martins College in London, and has garnered attention for his distinctively British artistic creations, working with designers such as Christopher Nemeth, John Galliano, Alexander McQueen, Hussein Chalayan, and Gareth Pugh. Dover Street Market's seasonal collections have garnered a cult following, and his reinterpretation of the signature work jacket and uniform-themed pieces over the past few seasons have had a major impact on men's fashion trends. A collaboration with Moncler was announced in 2017, raising expectations for this rising London star.

Roberto Cavalli, whose hometown is Florence, returns to its hometown for the global launch of its men's collection. New designer Paul Surridge, tasked with reviving the brand after it was acquired by an Italian investment fund in 2015, proposed a new luxury everyday wear collection for his women's Spring/Summer 2018 collection, building on the brand's heritage. At Pitti Uomo, he will unveil a new men's style that continues the urban brand's life story. In addition, the Santa Maria Novella Church will host a special exhibition titled "FANATIC FEELINGS - Fashion Plays Football" from Pitti Uomo through July 22, in conjunction with the 2018 FIFA World Cup, which kicks off in Russia on June 14. Japanese illustrator Hiroshi Tanabe will be participating in the event, providing illustrations alongside Karl Lagerfeld. The exhibition will highlight the pioneering influence of soccer players on fashion, fostering the fusion of tailoring and sportswear since the dawn of the fashion world. The event will delve into an archive of soccer player fashion from 2002 to 2018, featuring famous players such as Kaka, Edinson Cavani, Jerome Boateng, and Mesut Ozil, carefully selected by contemporary art critic Francesco Bonami. Featuring never-before-seen photographs and design projects, the exhibition traces the lives of football icons and fashionistas such as George Best, Eric Cantona, and Gigi Meloni. The street style section features the training and post-match looks of stylish players like David Beckham, Neymar, and Franck Ribery. The exhibition also features a screening of "Zidane: A 21st Century Portrait," a documentary film by artists Douglas Gordon and Philippe Parreno. Additionally, the Pitti Discovery Foundation and the Palazzo Pitti Museum of Fashion and Costume are hosting a special exhibition at Palazzo Pitti entitled "EVOLUTION - INVOLUTION - REVOLUTION." Curated by Stefano Pilati, the exhibition explores the evolution of men's fashion over the past few decades, incorporating social and cultural contexts. This exhibition by Pilati, who has been active in the mainstream of Milan fashion since the 1980s and is renowned for his academic perspective and as a collector, will run until October 21st.
