Seiko House Ginza, where Wako is located, is a landmark. This landmark clock tower is the second generation and was completed in 1932. This year, 2022, marks the 90th anniversary of its completion and the 75th anniversary of the founding of Wako Co., Ltd. This time, a limited edition model of Grand Seiko, the pinnacle of Japanese wristwatches, commemorating Wako's 75th anniversary will go on sale from October 13th, with pre-orders opening from September 13th.

The traditional Japanese color "Misorairo" is used for the dial
There are various theories about the origin of the name "Wako," but one theory is that it was named in hopes of an era of peace. Inspired by this, the blue sky, a symbol of peace, is depicted on the dial in the traditional Japanese color "Misorairo." Misorairo is a complimentary term for the sky, and is a bright, clear blue like an autumn sky, calming the soul every time you gaze upon it.
Another key feature is the embossed pattern that depicts scale clouds, a symbol of the arrival of autumn, hanging over a clear, blue autumn sky. The dial gives a three-dimensional feel of the refreshing blue autumn sky.

2022 marks the 75th anniversary of Wako's founding. This is also expressed in a subtle design on the dial. The GMT hand and the 7 and 5 digits in the GMT notation are pink gold, evoking the soft autumn sunlight, creating a beautiful contrast. In addition to the lion emblem, the case back is printed with the words "WAKO 75th ANNIVERSARY LIMITED COLLECTION," giving it a special feel that is only available this year.
