Artist Asami Kiyokawa's solo exhibition "ADASTRIA: Beauty Collection" by ASAMI KIYOKAWA will be held at Space O in Omotesando Hills from April 27th to May 6th.

This year marks the 15th anniversary of Asami Kiyokawa's signature work, "Beauty Collection," which "collects" many women into art.
Based on the concept that "insecurities are all part of individuality and beauty," Beauty Collection is Kiyokawa's life's work series in which she photographs actresses, models, musicians, and other women active in society, embroidering their inner selves and essential aspects into the photographs, likening them to the habits of plants and animals. The works are created through a variety of processes, from finding and contacting the women to styling, directing the shoot, and creating the artwork. At the shoot, the artist sometimes improvises costumes using fabrics and materials brought in by the photographer. The overlapping of graphic photographs and embroidered images reveals the inner strength and essential beauty that are the source of the women's radiance. This will be the first time in six years that this beauty collection exhibition will be held at the same venue.
This exhibition will feature new works created by Kiyokawa Asami, in which she has "collected" the most popular beauties of the moment - KOM_I (Wednesday Campanella), Sugawara Koharu, Yuriyan Retriever, and Wada Akiko - as well as over 100 other beautiful women, including her previous works. The exhibition is packed with content, including her latest work "LIFE," which depicts a woman's life, "mutant," which was also used as the main visual, the "Complex" series, which explores the theme of complexes, and "TOKYO Monster," which uses snapshots from fashion magazines from the 1990s as its motif. Also on display will be works by three women whom Kiyokawa "collected" from an audition of 15,000 group employees of Adastria Co., Ltd.

On April 27th, during the exhibition, a performance by dancer Sugawara Koharu, who is the subject of a new work to be released, and Tsujimoto Tomohiko will be shown from 6pm on the large atrium staircase in the main building of Omotesando Hills. In addition, on April 29th from 3pm, there will be a talk show featuring Yuriyan Retriever, who is also the subject of a new work, and Kiyokawa.
In addition, the latest collection of works from the Beauty Collection series, "Kiyokawa Asami Collection" (3,200 yen), which is scheduled for general release in May, will be available for pre-sale at the exhibition venue. This collection brings together approximately 80 pieces from the Beauty Collection series to date. Based on the theme of "specimen boxes and illustrated guides" for the Beauty Collection series, it introduces the concept of each piece in more detail, and includes dialogues and critiques from fashion and art critics, making it a volume that allows you to see in detail the culmination of many years of work all at once. It also includes the "Complex" series and the latest work, "LIFE," which makes you think deeply about the lives and ways of being of women.

Five types of T-shirts and five types of tote bags will be on sale.
In addition, to commemorate the opening of the solo exhibition, a social media campaign will be held from April 20th. Follow the campaign account on Twitter or Instagram, choose your favorite motif, and post a picture. 100 people will be given a limited collaboration tote bag directed by Kiyokawa Asami.
