Givenchy celebrated the arrival of cherry blossom season and the debut of Artistic Director Clare Waight Keller's Spring/Summer 2018 ready-to-wear collection with the "Givenchy World Tour" in Tokyo.

To mark the occasion, exactly one month after its launch party at Paris Fashion Week, Givenchy hosted a VIP cocktail reception at its Tokyo flagship store, followed by a gala event at the residence of French Ambassador to Japan Laurent Pic. The event featured special content that paid tribute to the French house's ties to Japanese culture, particularly its traditional savoir-faire, a craftsmanship of its time.

Guests arrived at the French Ambassador's residence via an approach decorated with Givenchy lanterns featuring the brand's "4G emblem," before arriving at an entrance framed by two giant Givenchy World Tour parasols, a nod to Kyoto's traditional Japanese umbrellas. A photo call in the petal-covered lobby welcomed guests to a blossoming cherry tree against a Givenchy backdrop.

The first Salon focused on the shared French-Japanese tradition of honouring the highest standards of craftsmanship. To illustrate this, 11 couture pieces from Clare Waight Keller's debut couture collection, "Mysteries of a Night Garden," were displayed amid the lush décor and moonlit atmosphere also seen in Givenchy's haute couture collections.

Following the haute couture salon, guests entered a lively space filled with a cast of unexpected characters. The game room featured five traditional games, including a giant Daruma-otoshi (a giant Daruma doll), a jiggly stick, a giant rattle, a ring toss, and yo-yo fishing, all in iconic Givenchy prints. The adjacent garden's "Experience Terrace" offered tarot readings and an eerie dollhouse where objects would suddenly come to life.

The special event also featured a mini-live performance by Young Juvenile Youth, an electronic music unit led by Yuhime Matsuda, the daughter of Yusaku Matsuda, and a performance by DJ PELI. With guests including Lily Collins, Chau Pak Hou, Lauren Tsai, Mademoiselle Yulia, Rina Fukushi, Elli-Rose and Emi Suzuki in attendance, the event was an unforgettable occasion that previewed the powerful new vision Clare Waight Keller will bring to Givenchy.
