H.P.FRANCE WINDOW GALLERY MARUNOUCHI in Marunouchi, Tokyo is hosting the exhibition "History on paper -Tomoo GOKITA-" from April 1st to May 10th.

The "History on Paper" series explores the value and historical origins of numerous masterpieces through the lens of the printmaking genre. Our fifth installment introduces Gokita Tomoo, who has been active since the 2000s and has now garnered critical acclaim for his work, participating in exhibitions at art museums and galleries around the world. His 2014 solo exhibition at the Kawamura Memorial DIC Museum of Art is still fresh in our minds, and he is scheduled to hold a large-scale solo exhibition at the Tokyo Opera City Art Gallery in April 2018. Based on a black-and-white gradation, Gokita's work, with its collage-like compositions, bold brushstrokes, and highly improvisational drawings, expands the possibilities of contemporary painting and creates a unique world. This exhibition will showcase Gokita's past works. Experience Gokita's world at this exhibition, which showcases a number of works that have created new value symbolizing the era and will be passed down to future generations.
