To commemorate the 150th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Japan and Sweden, the "Pippi Longstocking World Exhibition: Lindgren's Depictions of Nordic Life and Children" will be held at the Tokyo Fuji Art Museum from July 28th to September 24th.

This exhibition will feature works by Astrid Lindgren, a Swedish children's author whose work remains beloved around the world after more than 70 years. Furthermore, based on the theme of "Nordic life and children," the exhibition will also highlight themes depicted in Lindgren's works, such as Swedish lifestyle and culture, coexistence with nature, and child-rearing.

Lindgren's books have been translated into more than 100 languages around the world, with a total of 160 million copies in print.
Her most famous work, "Pippi Longstocking," was originally an impromptu story she improvised in 1941 to cheer up her daughter Karin, who was bedridden with a cold, and remains a best-seller to this day. She produced many children's works over her 94-year life, and is known as the "Queen of Children's Books."
