Chanel presented its Fall/Winter 2018-19 ready-to-wear collection in Paris on March 6th (local time).
The venue, the Grand Palais, recreated an autumn scene with rows of deciduous trees, and the dead leaves covering the seats and runway, along with the light streaming in from the blue sky, created a "Chanel Forest" enveloped in unseasonably warm sunshine.
This season's signature styles are lean, slender silhouettes with firm, square shoulder lines. To match the colors of the venue, the Maison's signature monochrome worldview was enhanced with reddish-brown and yellowish-brown reminiscent of fallen leaves, moss green reminiscent of moss and coniferous leaves, and brown reminiscent of tree bark, incorporating beautiful elements of nature into the looks.
The iconic tweed jackets came in a wide variety of lengths, from waist-length to thigh-length, and were adorned with leaf-shaped jeweled buttons and twig-like braids. Delicate embroidered lace, tulle, and organza dresses were paired with quilted down jackets and colorful fingerless gloves, creating a coexistence of elegance and edginess that is typical of Chanel.

The accessories were also glamorous, with many striking new designs appearing, such as asymmetrical voluminous earrings, gold boots with a tree pattern print, colorful scarves, and a shopping bag-shaped bag made from printed cotton canvas.
