The "Forest Film Festival 2018," an outdoor film festival that takes advantage of the venue's unique setting to create a one-night-only fantasy, will be held on October 6th at Twin Ring Motegi, a mobility theme park in Tochigi Prefecture.


The "Forest Film Festival 2018," an outdoor film festival that takes place in the forest for just one night a year, attracts thousands of visitors, allowing them to become characters in the film's world. The event changes its concept and location every year, and visitors can enjoy nearly 50 feature-length and short films that fit the festival's unique theme throughout the night on multiple special screens set up in a variety of locations, including forests, rivers, and rocky outcrops.


This year marks the 5th anniversary of the event, and it will be held at Twin Ring Motegi, the circuit where the MotoGP Japan Grand Prix is held. The facility also includes the Forest and Starry Sky Camp Village, where visitors can enjoy camping and glamping, making the most of the circuit's location surrounded by lush greenery to liven up the evening of the event.


The theme for this year's image is "intersection." The subtle shifts used as a method of expression in the main visual will change the future and also change how we perceive the past. This is how life, where "fate changes in unexpected places," is expressed by likening it to the long roads of a racing circuit.

The event's teaser site is scheduled to be released in June. The organizing committee, the Forest Film Festival, is accepting submissions for short films to be screened until 1pm on April 30th.


In addition, the "Forest Screening Intersecting the Night Sky IN Golden Week 2018" will be held during Golden Week from April 28th to May 5th. At Forest Water Park Berga in Hokuto City, Yamanashi Prefecture, a rotating double feature of short and feature films will be screened daily, including major titles such as last year's smash hit "La La Land" and "The Witch of the West is Dead," a film about the emotional bond between a wounded girl and her British grandmother. Additionally, from July 14th to 16th, a spin-off event, "A Sky Screening Intersecting the Night Sky," will be held at Mishima Skywalk, Shizuoka Prefecture's longest pier, at 400 meters.
