Spotify still has many hidden features and ways to enjoy it. In this 12th installment of our "Music Journey—How to Use Spotify" series, we'll introduce three handy Spotify features that you might consider secret tricks. Master these and you'll be a Spotify expert!
When talking about music with friends, you often share recommended artists and music. Normally, you'd do this by taking notes or searching YouTube. With Spotify, you can instantly share information about artists and their works using "Spotify Codes."
Codes can be issued for artists, albums, songs, and playlists. The sender taps the "..." icon next to the artist or playlist to display the code. The recipient simply taps the camera icon in the upper right corner of the search screen to activate the reader and scan the code image with their camera to access it.
You can also save the code as an image, so you can share it on Instagram or print it out and hand it out at events.
This is a desktop-only feature, but it allows you to check the songwriters and producers of a song.
Right-click a song and select "Show Song Credits" to see the names of the participating artists, songwriters, and producers.
You might even discover something interesting like, "Oh, this producer was actually involved!" It's a bit of a nerdy feature, but it's a lot of fun.

Shazam Integration
Have you heard of the app "Shazam," which lets you find out what music is playing right now? If you're out on the street or in a club and wondering, "What's that song called?", just hold up the app and it will tell you the song title, artist, and other information. It's a very convenient app. 
You can save music you find on Shazam to Spotify and listen to it anytime later. What's more, if you connect the app, songs you find on Shazam will automatically be saved to a playlist called "My Shazam Tracks." This is incredibly convenient!
