Marcelo Burlon County of Milan's Fall/Winter 2018-19 collection was the first in several seasons to feature the brand's signature streetwear vibe. While Marcelo is credited with bringing the luxury streetwear trend to Milan Fashion Week, the past few seasons have tended to feature more subdued collections, perhaps due to his focus on the fashion scene. While his previous collections clearly translated the breadth of the scene, such as incorporating live hip-hop singers on the runway, this season opened with an extreme sports theme reminiscent of his debut season at Pitti Uomo. The violence and danger symbolized by BMX techniques are reflected in the details of racing pants and bomber jackets. The red and black buffalo check, gothic fonts, and graphic logos and tarot cards are perfectly coordinated with street icons.
The motifs of horror films by Italian film director Dario Argento, used on hoodies and sweatshirts, are appealing enough even without being coupled with the brand's strong cast of rap crews and gangsters.
The boots from Timberland, which collaborated with America's Major League Baseball (MLB) and America's professional basketball league (NBA), feature industrial tags, showing the brand's true talent as a key player in the scene.
