Event Date:2018.02.09-02.18
Jan 30, 2018
Omotesando Hills will be holding the art event "OMOTESANDO HILLS ART WEEK 2018" from February 9th to 18th.

The company will be participating as a special collaborator in "MeCA | Media Culture in Asia: A Transnational Platform (commonly known as Meeka)," Japan's first comprehensive event to comprehensively disseminate media culture from Asia. The event will be held in the core areas of Harajuku, Omotesando, and Shibuya, which have always been hubs of new culture, including Omotesando Hills.

Ryuichi Sakamoto + Shiro Takatani "Water State 1"

A large-scale installation themed on water, created in collaboration with artists Ryuichi Sakamoto and Shiro Takatani, will be exhibited in Space O on the B3 floor of the main building.

This work creates complex changes in the water droplets and water surface, and reflects these changes in sound. The harmony and contrast of sight and sound evokes various memories in the viewer. Don't miss this opportunity to enjoy this large-scale installation, which is rarely seen in Tokyo.

"BRING"

A pop-up shop and bookshop will be set up in the large atrium staircase, selling "Mika Original T-shirts" featuring graphics designed by Mika-affiliated artists printed on the spot.

These original T-shirts are a collaboration between Mika and "BRING," an organization that aims to create new T-shirts from used T-shirts using cutting-edge recycling technology for the future of the planet. Other artist-related publications and books curated around Mika themes will also be available for purchase.

Nao Tadachi Photo Exhibition "She is ambivalent."

A variety of events will also be held in the museum's gallery spaces.

ROCKET on the 3rd floor of the Dojunkan building will host a photo exhibition by photographer Nao Tadachi and a solo exhibition by artist Yoshiyuki Okada. Pass the Baton on the 2nd basement floor of the West Building will host the second pop-up by Nakameguro rug shop Layout. Mark Style Tokyo on the 3rd basement floor of the Main Building will feature a lineup of works by popular artists, including new works that have been well-received in the past.

Kaho Iwaki "Clothes that Bring Dialogue"

Works by young creators who represent the next generation of Tokyo University of the Arts, including Hikari Takeuchi+, Moe Shimada, Emiri Suzuki, Jinwoong Kim, and Kaho Iwaki, will be exhibited in the wall art space of Tully's Coffee on the West Building's B1 floor, as well as in the "Art Space" on the interior walls of the Main Building from B3F to 3F.

Bar à Vin Partage "Art Hachette" (1,620 yen including tax)
In addition, three restaurants will be offering photogenic special art-themed menus.

Fratelli Paradiso on the third floor of the main building will be serving the vibrantly colored "Risotto Oro Zafferano e Vitello" (1,836 yen including tax), made with slowly simmered veal, while Bar à Vin Partage will be serving "Art Hachette" (1,620 yen including tax), a spring-like dish designed to resemble a canvas on a plate.
