CHANEL's new high jewelry collection, titled "L'Esprit du Lion," was unveiled at the salon of the Chanel Fine Jewelry Paris Vendôme flagship store in Paris's 1st arrondissement.

Mademoiselle Chanel, born under the sign of Leo, used lions in various details, such as engraving them on suit buttons and handbag clasps, making them a sort of emblem for the house. While the brand has previously released lion-themed jewelry pieces in 2012 and 2013, this latest collection is a major one consisting of 53 pieces inspired by the lion statue with its paws on a globe that resides in Mademoiselle's apartment on Rue Cambon. All of these pieces showcase Chanel's sophisticated design, including the Dazzling series necklace, which uses oval-cut yellow beryl to express the aura of a lion; the Eternal series necklace, which beautifully expresses the overlapping chains; and the Protective series necklace, which combines brown diamond gradient chains to create a delicate, scarf-like volume. The Commanding series necklace, featuring oval-cut diamonds strung together with chains, took 1,000 hours to craft, but thanks to a focus on lightweight construction, it weighs just 100 grams. This piece directly demonstrates Chanel's sophisticated craftsmanship. Other notable pieces include the Passionate series, which uses orange topaz to express Mademoiselle Chanel's burning passion, and the Eternal series, which features a delicate, lace-like finish. Three pieces from "Les Éternelles de Chanel," scheduled to be unveiled in Basel in March, were also on display, including a watch set with a lion's head made of yellow beryl. Also announced was a table clock named "Powerful," inspired by the aforementioned lion statue with its paw resting on the globe. This clock features a gold lion carved by an engraver set on carved rock crystal, overwhelming in its power and luxury. It is a piece that symbolizes the strength and delicacy of this collection.
