Peanuts Hotel, a design hotel themed around Snoopy and the unique characters from Peanuts, is gaining attention as a new attraction in Kobe. Ahead of its August 1, 2018, a press preview was held on July 4th, revealing the interior.
This year marks the 50th anniversary of Peanuts' arrival in Japan. The hotel is based on the scene from the comic "Peanuts," in which Snoopy sees the little birds relaxing and sleeping in their doghouse and thinks, "It's nice to have a home where your guests feel comfortable." The hotel is based on the concept of a casual and friendly world woven by the Peanuts characters, where people of all generations come together to create various communities and spend time together in a heartwarming atmosphere.

The city of Kobe, surrounded by sea and mountains, has a retro-modern atmosphere reminiscent of Santa Rosa, USA, where Charles M. Schulz, the original creator of Peanuts, had his studio, and California, the hometown of Snoopy and his Peanuts friends. The interior of the building is sprinkled with mid-century furniture and sophisticated Japanese modern elements, creating a space that is somehow nostalgic yet new and exuding humor.

The first floor is a cafe and merchandise store featuring the popular "PEANUTS Cafe" from Nakameguro, Tokyo, the third floor is a restaurant space featuring the "PEANUTS DINER," and the fourth to sixth floors are accommodation spaces. The accommodation spaces are each themed around a different theme: the fourth floor is "IMAGINE," the fifth floor is "HAPPY," and the sixth floor is "LOVE," and all 18 guest rooms are based on a different comic book concept. "PEANUTS Cafe," making its first foray into the Kansai region, will be a stand-up cafe for takeout only. Guests can enjoy drinks that are popular in Nakameguro. The shop space will also feature original Peanuts Hotel merchandise for sale. "PEANUTS DINER," also a first for the Kansai region, will serve authentic meals made with Kobe ingredients and menu items inspired by unique episodes of the Peanuts characters. The cafe, shop, and restaurant can all be accessed easily without having to make a reservation for the hotel.
